Spite: Spell Shock

Spite: Spell Shock is a Diablo-like hack n' slash game that features three acts, unlockable abilities and a final boss fight.

This was developed over 8 weeks parallel with extending our engine with Spisen, a visual scripting editor.

Visual Scripting in Spisen

 

This was the first project where us designers could script gameplay. Our programmers created a visual script editor much like Blueprint in Unreal Engine 4.

Since I worked a bit more on the technical side, I worked with our tools programmers to establish the functionality we needed to implement in the editor.

My technical work included regular meetings discussing the development of Spisen, providing feedback to the programmers and taking requests from my design colleagues to shape the editor into a powerful and versatile tool.

In this project, I took a step back from the traditional level design and focused more on level and gameplay scripting.
